7th Patient Workshop in Liverpool!

The AKU Society is happy to announce that we are holding our seventh Patient Workshop in Liverpool, on Wednesday, November 22nd. The workshop will be held at the Bluecoat (http://www.thebluecoat.org.uk/) in the heart of Liverpool’s RopeWalks district. Registration will open at 9:30am with the event running from 10:00 am until 4:00pm. This is a free event, with food and other refreshments provided through.....more

Children's Workshop

Our first ever Children's Workshop will be held at London Zoo on Wednesday, July 26th. The day is all about children having fun whilst at the same time introducing the children to some of the people involved in working with AKU. The workshop will have lots of exciting activities throughout the day. There will be fun interactive sessions using a portable computer system 'Goblin Post Office' designed for children by the team at Liverpoo.....more

2017 Spartan Race

September 3rd the AKU Society have 6 runners in the 2017 Spartan Race. The Spartan race is an endurance event that has competitors take on a 5k obstacle course across a terrain of hills, water and forest trails. This gruelling ordeal makes participants jump over fire, climb vertical walls, scramble up ropes and tackle a host of other obstacles they do not reveal until the day itself! 2017 Stand Up For AKU Comedy Night!

Tickets are now available for the 2017 AKU Comedy Night! Following the success of last years 'Stand up for AKU' Comedy Night, we are putting on another night of stand-up comedy to fundraise towards a 2018 International Patient Workshop. Cambridge Half Marathon 2017

The AKU Society has 10 places for the Cambridge half marathon in March 2017! The event has become so popular since it began 6 years ago that places sell out soon after they go on sale. Garrod Day Coffee Morning 2016

Following the success of last year, we will be hosting another Coffee Morning on Friday 25th November to celebrate Garrod Day. Garrod Day is a national AKU awareness day, coined by the AKU Society to celebrate Sir Archibald Garrod's birthday, who discovered AKU, the world's first genetic disease back in 1902. Sponsored Cycle - London to Cambridge
