26-Jul-2017
Our first ever Children's Workshop will be held at London Zoo on Wednesday, July 26th.
The day is all about children having fun whilst at the same time introducing the children to some of the people involved in working with AKU. The workshop will have lots of exciting activities throughout the day.
There will be fun interactive sessions using a portable computer system 'Goblin Post Office' designed for children by the team at Liverpool John Moores University. We will also have two unique animal encounters, a truly unforgettable experience where the children and adults can meet some of the zoo's inhabitants close up. In addition to the animal encounters, everyone attending will have an hour's free entry into the zoo.
We also hope to set up a peer mentoring scheme where some of our young adults with AKU have agreed to be mentors offering support to the children and young families.
The day will run 09.00 to 17.00 with lunch and refreshments provided throughout the day. Financial assistance is available to help with travel costs and overnight stays where needed.
