We had great fun at our last patient workshop at Alexandra Palace in London, and we have another exciting venue lined up for you this time in Liverpool. Save the date now!
Our next patient workshop will be held on Saturday 29th November at Goodison Park, the home of Everton Football Club in Liverpool. The event will run from 10am-4pm, and all lunch and refreshments throughout the day will be provided. There may even be a chance to go out to the terraces to see the stadium!
The morning session will focus on mental health and wellbeing in long term conditions. James Moore from Mind will explore what good mental health looks and feels like. He will also be talking on how to self manage your mental health when you have a long term condition.
The afternoon will include updates on the work of the AKU Society and research in to AKU. Guest speaker, Ted Lock, will be giving a talk on how nitisinone was first discovered, and will explaining how it came to be recognised as a viable treatment for AKU. There will be plenty of opportunities throughout the day to meet other patients, and socialise with friends. This is a great chance to meet other people with AKU and learn from one another. It is also an opportunity to ask questions about our work at the AKU Society, and meet some of the people who work behind the scenes.
If you would like to attend this event, please let Lesley know to confirm your place. You can contact her by email at [email protected] or over the phone at 01223 322 897.
