Alternative Ways to Give

Payroll Giving

Payroll giving is a straightforward and tax effective way to donate to the AKU Society. If your company operates a Payroll giving scheme you can donate straight from your gross salary before tax is deducted. This allows you to ‘give more for less’ as the tax that would normally be paid to the government can be gifted to the charity instead. So if you make a monthly pledge of £10, it will actually only cost you £8 – that’s what we like to hear!

Join EasyFundraising to raise money for AKU whilst you shop online!
It's free and simple to set up. You just shop online as you usually would and we get a percentage of what you buy from certain retailers. It doesn't cost you a thing but it is an important revenue stream for us to help AKU patients.
Just follow this link to get set up:

You can text us a donation whatever mobile network you’re on. Simply text ‘AKUS13’, followed by the amount you want to give, to the number 70070. For example, you would text ‘AKUS13 £20’ to donate £20 to us.

Gift in Memory

Giving a gift in memory is a touching way to remember someone special by honouring their life and allowing their legacy to live on. If you would like to create a fundraising page in memory of a loved one please see our guidelines or you can send a cheque payable to the Alkaptonuria Society to 66 Devonshire Road, Cambridge, CB1 2BL.

Alternatively, you may like to ask for donations in lieu of flowers at a funeral. If you would like some information leaflets to give to relatives and friends who wish to make a donation please contact [email protected]

We celebrate the life of everyone that has a donation given in their name on our website.
